DJI Terra
DJI Terra is available in Standard and Flagship tiers, each with online or offline activation, and in annual or permanent licence terms. If you also need 3D model editing, see the Terra + DJI Modify bundles on the DJI Modify page.
Buyer's Guide: Which Terra Licence Is Right for You?
Standard vs Flagship
Standard covers the core reconstruction workflow — 2D orthomosaics, DSM, photogrammetry 3D models, and LiDAR point cloud processing from Zenmuse L1, L2, and L3 data. It's a genuinely capable licence for most mapping and survey reconstruction work.
Flagship includes everything in Standard, plus 3D Gaussian Splatting for photorealistic reconstruction, and expanded capability for advanced inspection scenarios such as energy infrastructure. If your work needs the most advanced or photorealistic outputs, Flagship is the right tier.
Online vs Offline
Online licences are verified through an internet connection — the simpler option for teams with standard connectivity.
Offline licences are built for closed or air-gapped environments where the machine running Terra doesn't have (or shouldn't have) internet access — common in government, defence, or secure facility work. Note that Flagship Offline is currently only available as a Permanent licence.
1-Year vs Permanent
Both give you the same feature set for your chosen tier — the difference is purely commercial. 1-Year is a lower upfront cost with ongoing annual billing to stay current. Permanent is a one-time cost that includes free version updates going forward.
Heads up: if you upgrade from a Standard licence to Flagship partway through a term, a new licence period starts from the moment of upgrade — any remaining time on your Standard subscription doesn't carry over.
DJI Terra turns drone-captured imagery and LiDAR data into professional mapping and reconstruction outputs — 2D orthomosaics, digital surface models, 3D photogrammetry models, and LiDAR point clouds — all processed on your own desktop hardware rather than a cloud service.
Both Standard and Flagship licences support the core reconstruction workflow, including processing DJI LiDAR data from the Zenmuse L1, L2, and L3 payloads. Flagship extends this further with 3D Gaussian Splatting for photorealistic, real-time renderable reconstructions, and additional capability for advanced inspection use cases.
Distributed cluster computing — spreading a processing job across multiple networked machines — is built into both tiers, with additional node capacity available for larger operations via the Cluster Additional Node Package.
Core Reconstruction
- 2D orthomosaic, TDOM, and DSM generation from visible-light imagery
- 3D photogrammetry model reconstruction
- LiDAR point cloud processing from Zenmuse L1, L2, and L3 data — available on both Standard and Flagship
Flagship-Exclusive
- 3D Gaussian Splatting for photorealistic, real-time reconstruction
- Expanded capability for advanced inspection scenarios, including energy sector applications
Cluster Computing
Both tiers support distributed processing across networked computers, speeding up large reconstruction jobs. Additional node capacity beyond the base allowance is available via the Cluster Additional Node Package add-on.
Flagship Offline is currently only available as a Permanent licence — 1-Year Flagship Offline is not available at this time.
DJI Terra is a software licence — there is no physical delivery. Once your order is confirmed, your licence key and activation instructions will be provided by email, along with a link to download the software.
Online licences activate automatically once you sign in with your licence credentials and an internet connection is available. Offline licences include separate offline activation instructions for use in closed or air-gapped environments.
Frequently Asked Questions
Standard covers the full core reconstruction workflow, including 2D mapping, 3D photogrammetry, and LiDAR point cloud processing from Zenmuse L1/L2/L3 data. Flagship adds 3D Gaussian Splatting for photorealistic reconstruction and expanded capability for advanced inspection scenarios, such as energy infrastructure work.
Yes — Standard fully supports processing Zenmuse L1, L2, and L3 LiDAR data. LiDAR support is not a Flagship-exclusive feature.
A new licence period starts from the moment of upgrade. Any remaining time on your current Standard subscription does not carry over, so it's worth timing an upgrade around your renewal date if you want to avoid losing unused time.
Online licences are verified through an internet connection and are the simpler option for most teams. Offline licences are designed for closed or air-gapped environments with no internet access, common in government, defence, or other secure facility work.
Distributed cluster computing is already built into both Standard and Flagship licences at a base capacity. The Cluster Additional Node Package adds extra processing nodes on top of that — only needed if you're regularly processing very large jobs and want to speed things up further across more machines.
Yes — bundled Terra + Modify packages are available at a discount versus buying separately, on the DJI Modify page.
Not currently — Flagship Offline is only available as a Permanent licence. If a 1-Year Flagship Offline term is a genuine requirement for your organisation, contact our team and we'll see what can be arranged.
