The Upward Gimbal Connector adds a payload position to the top of the DJI Matrice 300 RTK, allowing a camera or sensor to look upward rather than down.
It solves a problem that no amount of flight planning can get around: some assets can only be properly inspected from below. Bridge soffits and deck undersides, pier caps and bearings, gantry structures, tunnel crowns, canopy roofs, pipe racks and the underside of elevated infrastructure are all effectively invisible to a downward-facing payload, however close you fly.
With an upward gimbal fitted, the aircraft flies beneath the structure and looks up — capturing cracking, spalling, corrosion and water ingress directly, at close range, without rope access, a MEWP or a road closure. For bridge and structural inspection teams, it typically removes the single most expensive and most disruptive part of the job.
The upward position can be used alongside two downward payloads via the Dual Gimbal Connector, giving the M300 RTK three simultaneous payloads.
