A 5W ultra-high-power internal radio paired with STEC's proprietary S-Link Ultra protocol delivers a significantly extended working range beyond 20km with enhanced link stability. Dual transmission means the rover can automatically and seamlessly switch to a network data link the moment it moves beyond radio coverage, eliminating the need to manually reconfigure after a signal loss — exactly the kind of interruption that slows down a large site or a linear infrastructure survey.
All-Day Power, Engineered Efficiently
High transmit power doesn't have to come at the cost of battery life. An intelligent power management system dynamically optimises energy allocation depending on how the SV5 is being used, delivering up to 44 hours in static mode, 40 hours as a rover, and 16 hours running flat-out as a 5W radio base — comfortably covering a full working day even under the heaviest power draw. A dedicated battery status button on the base lets you check remaining power instantly, whether the unit is powered on or off, useful when the base is set up some distance from the crew.
Survey-Grade Accuracy as Both Base and Rover
The SV5 isn't only a base. With 1,408/1,808-channel tracking (upgradable) across GPS, GLONASS, BEIDOU, GALILEO, QZSS and SBAS, plus L-band PPP correction support (B2b PPP, E6-HAS), it delivers real-time kinematic accuracy of 8mm+1ppm horizontally and 15mm+1ppm vertically when working as a rover — putting genuine survey-grade positioning in a unit that can just as easily be left running as your base station.
IMU Tilt and Camera-Based AR Stakeout
A built-in IMU delivers 2cm tilt accuracy with no tilt angle limit, removing the need to keep the pole perfectly level for every shot. Paired with dual integrated camera sensors, the SV5 supports AR stakeout when working as a rover, letting you navigate visually to a design point rather than relying on a bearing-and-distance readout alone — meaning the same unit you run as a base today can step in as a full-featured rover tomorrow.
Built to Survive the Site
An IP68 water and dust rating, a 2-metre drop rating onto hard surfaces, and a 40G/10ms shock rating mean the SV5 is engineered for genuinely rugged use rather than just sitting safely on a tripod. Dedicated cooling fins manage the heat generated by sustained high-power radio transmission, so performance doesn't degrade over a long base session in hot conditions.
