The Dual Gimbal Connector allows two payloads to be mounted in the downward position on the DJI Matrice 300 RTK, so a single flight captures what would otherwise take two.
That changes what a sortie can deliver. Pair a zoom and thermal camera for inspection work that needs both visual detail and heat signature; run a LiDAR payload alongside an RGB camera for colourised point clouds and photogrammetry from the same pass; or combine a spotlight and speaker for search and rescue operations after dark. Combined with the upward gimbal port, the M300 RTK can carry three payloads at once.
The practical gain is flight time. Every payload change costs you a landing, a swap and a relaunch — and on a day with a limited weather window or a closure slot, that’s the difference between finishing the site and going back. Capturing two data sets simultaneously also means they’re perfectly time-aligned, which matters when you’re comparing visual and thermal evidence of the same defect.
