DJI Zenmuse L3 — includes 1-Year DJI Care Enterprise Plus

The DJI Zenmuse L3 is a 950m LiDAR system with dual 100MP cameras, 3cm vertical accuracy and up to 100km² daily coverage. For Matrice 400. Includes 1-year Care Plus.

The DJI Zenmuse L3 is DJI's most advanced aerial LiDAR system — a next-generation long-range, high-accuracy payload built exclusively for the Matrice 400. Its self-developed 1535nm LiDAR reaches 950 metres at just 10% reflectivity, with support for up to 16 returns and a maximum pulse emission rate of 2 million points per second. A laser beam divergence of just 0.25 mrad means the spot size at the same range is approximately one-fifth that of the Zenmuse L2, giving significantly stronger penetration through vegetation and dense environments and sharper detection of fine structures such as power lines and branches.

Alongside the LiDAR module, dual 100MP 4/3-inch CMOS cameras with a combined horizontal FOV of 107° and mechanical shutter capture colourised point clouds and RGB mapping outputs simultaneously — eliminating the need for a separate mapping payload. At a typical flight altitude of 300 metres, a single flight covers up to 10km², enabling up to 100km² of daily coverage. Vertical accuracy is 3cm at 120m altitude, 5cm at 300m and 10cm at 500m. Three scanning modes — Linear, Star-Shaped and Non-Repetitive — optimise the point cloud for terrain mapping, forested environments or complex structural surveys respectively. Processed in DJI Terra (L3 point cloud processing included free in Terra v5.1 for both Standard and Flagship). Includes 1-year DJI Care Enterprise Plus.

    Product Features

    1535nm Long-Range LiDAR

An eye-safe Class 1 laser reaches up to 950m even on 10%-reflectivity targets, with strong penetration and up to 16 returns per pulse — capturing dense ground points through vegetation and across complex terrain.

    Dual 100MP RGB Cameras

Two Micro 4/3 sensors totalling 100MP deliver a wide 107° field of view and a mechanical shutter rated for 500,000 cycles, producing photorealistic colourised point clouds and photogrammetry-grade orthophotos in a single flight.

    Centimetre Accuracy at Range

A self-developed LiDAR with high-precision POS and RTK/PPK delivers 5mm ranging repeatability at 150m and vertical accuracy from 3cm at 120m — supporting mapping at 1:500, 1:1000 and 1:2000 scales.

    100km² per Day Efficiency

Paired with the Matrice 400, the L3 covers up to 10km² per flight and 100km² per day, turning multi-day survey campaigns into single-day operations and cutting time and cost on site.

    Detailed Specifications

    Long-Range, See-Through LiDAR

The L3 uses a 1535nm laser capable of reaching up to 950m even on low-reflectivity (10%) targets, letting crews fly higher and cover more ground per pass. Strong penetration and up to 16 returns per pulse capture dense ground points beneath vegetation, enabling accurate reconstruction of complex terrain and structures.

    Survey-Grade Accuracy

The self-developed LiDAR delivers ranging repeatability of 5mm at 150m and vertical accuracy of 3cm at 120m (5cm at 300m, 10cm at 500m), supporting mapping at 1:500, 1:1000 and 1:2000 scales. Combined with a high-precision POS system and RTK/PPK positioning, it produces dependable centimetre-level data across large areas.

Colourised Point Clouds from Dual 100MP Cameras

Two Micro 4/3 RGB cameras totalling 100MP generate photorealistic, colourised point clouds and photogrammetry-grade imagery in a single flight. A wide 107° field of view — 27° wider than the LiDAR — ensures full colourisation and high-quality orthophotos, with a mechanical shutter rated for 500,000 cycles.

    Exceptional Daily Coverage

Paired with the Matrice 400, a single flight can cover up to 10km², enabling up to 100km² of high-accuracy mapping per day. That efficiency turns multi-day survey projects into single-day operations, reducing cost and time on site.

    End-to-End DJI Ecosystem

The L3 integrates directly with DJI Terra, Modify and FlightHub 2, and works alongside the D-RTK 3 Multifunctional Station — connecting planning, capture, processing and visualisation in one streamlined workflow that generates multiple mapping deliverables from a single flight.
