The CHCNAV Apache 6 is an unmanned survey vessel (USV) for efficient hydrographic and bathymetric surveys of lakes, rivers, reservoirs and coastal waters. Carrying sonar payloads, it maps depths and features quickly and safely, reaching shallow or hazardous areas crewed boats can't. Supplied and supported in the UK by Tri-Site Survey Equipment.

Product Features
Lightweight Carbon Fibre Construction
A 15kg high-strength, high-modulus carbon fibre hull delivers strength, stability and easy handling — making the Apache 6 simple to transport and deploy while standing up to demanding near-shore conditions.
Detachable Three-Body Design
A modular, detachable triple-hull vessel breaks down for easy transport and reliable performance in challenging near-shore environments, then reassembles quickly on site — no crane or trailer launch required.
Titanium Alloy Rotary Thruster
A smart rotating thruster with a turning radius as small as 2 metres enables agile steering and effective operation in narrow waterways, where fixed-thruster craft would struggle to manoeuvre.
Integrated Auto SVP Launcher
A built-in sound velocity profiler launcher lets crews complete multibeam surveys in a single, seamless deployment — capturing the sound velocity data essential for accurate bathymetry without a separate operation.
Detailed Specifications
Multifunctional Survey Platform:
The Apache 6 supports optional multibeam echosounders and LiDAR scanners simultaneously, enabling high-resolution 3D bathymetric surveys, underwater object detection, and offshore construction support from a single deployment. Configure the payload for the survey - the platform adapts.
Triple-Hull Stability in Fast Currents:
The Apache 6's tri-hull design with detachable side floats provides a wide, stable base that maintains consistent survey positioning even in fast-flowing rivers, tidal zones, and exposed coastal waters. Where a twin-hull vessel would pitch and roll, the Apache 6 holds its line.
Automated Sound Velocity Profiling:
For multibeam echosounder surveys, accurate sound velocity profiling is essential - errors in sound velocity propagate directly into depth accuracy. The Apache 6's optional automatic SVP kit integrates with the remote controller, installs in under one minute, and continuously corrects for water column variations across the survey area.
2-Metre Turning Radius:
Intelligent rotating propeller technology gives the Apache 6 a turning radius of just 2 metres - exceptional for a vessel of this size. This allows tight survey line spacing in port basins, lock approaches, reservoir inlets, and other confined environments where most larger USVs lose efficiency.
Android Remote Control with Long-Range Data Link:
The Android remote controller provides real-time vessel status and survey data without requiring a separate computer. A multi-link communication system supports long-distance data transmission, giving operators clear situational awareness and responsive control even at extended range - essential for large water body surveys and offshore deployments.
